The ULPA motor filter collects 99.999% of particle 0.12 microns and larger in the filters media. Allergens such as dust, pet dander, pollen, mold spores, and some bacteria are kept from reentering the air.
To replace the motor filter on the Bissell 9-quart Canister Vacuum, unlock and remove the cover on the top of the vacuum. The filter will then be exposed and can be taken out. Put a new filter in, making sure that the notches on the filter and motor housing. Push the filter down until it is resting on the motor housing. Reinstall the lid and make sure that it locked.
